Physical description
Heavy, one piece cast model of an American Curtis "Kittyhawk" fighter aircraft of World War II vintage. Roughly to the same 1/72" scale of modern (1990s) plastic models. No marking or inscriptions visible. The P-40 "Kittyhawk" was the R.N.Z.A.F's first fighter aircraft to be deployed in large numbers and was used in the pacific theatre. During world-war II the R.N.Z.A.F produced models of this type of a variety of allied or enemy aircraft as recognition aids for training purposes.
