Large Gourd (top stem cut-off to form a lid) Decorated with a carved flowing spiral motif.
The decoration incorporates an inscription, 'KEI HEA NGA HMIA' and one of the end spirals has had an old N. Z. sixpence (1952) coin inserted at it's centre.
The motif has been highlighted by being coloured a dark, chocolate brown in contrast to the light brown of the remainder of the Gourd.
