Physical description
Large solid shaped carving of circular or oval cross section overall.The Main trunk features two stylised human faces with distorted angry features, mouths agape and teeth exposed, interspersed with flowing geometric decorative motifs.
Only one side of the main trunk is fully carved. The wood used has an exceptionally pale yellow colour (artificial finish).
Washed up on Ninety mile beach in the late 1980s carved in modern Tongan style employed in carving art objects for the tourist trade.
Identified as A Ta Tongi Tongi probably representing the god of the seasons.
