Physical description
Adze Handle - general arrangement as per diagram. The bottom, foot shaped part of the piece is hollow, giving a shallow 'U' shape to the section. The Adze would be inserted here and bound into place with twine of plaited flax fibre. The handle has very dark-hued wood, much lighter on the foot.
