Physical description
Square form plate, with four slightly scalloped edges. Moulded from an off white ceramic. The main decoration on the plate is an image (taken from a photographic portrait) of the king to be Edward VIII, surrounded by a laurel wreath and surmounting a banner reading: "H. M. Edward VIII 12th May 1937." A line of gilt paint runs around the outer edge of the plate. The plate has obviously been hung up as a decoration, as a wire support has been crudely fashioned and attached. Marked on the bottom (partially obscured:- Wadewood and England (wadewood is not correct as WEDGWOOD were (one of) the manufacturers of the Imperial Memorabilia.
