Physical description
The box is hexagonal in shape, each piece has a line of holes, and is joined with a band of crochet. The box has an opening at the top and the lid has no fastening.
A special feature of this box is the embroidered WW1 card sent back from the war which has been used and placed on the lid of the box. The text reads: " For my Dear Mother".
Inside the box, there is another piece of this WW1 card which is a small oval shape, the text on it reads "For Home and Country".
The inside lid and base of the container are made from plastic coated pieces of wallpaper, not card.
