Script Reads:
BURIED TREASURE.....own a GENUINE RELIC of NEW ZEALAND HISTORY.

KAURI GUM
The fossilised resin of the kauri tree, known as kauri gum, is now a part of New Zealand's history. Pieces were discovered by Capt. Cook and Samuel Marsden, and during the 1800's the value of gum for export was realised. The Gum-rush began and in the next hundred years more than $50,000,000 was earned from exporting gum for the making of varnish and other products. This genuine sample of unpolished kauri gum was actually dug during the gum digging days from the swamplands of Northland, New Zealand beneath the sites of prehistoric kauri forests. It is exactly the same as the gum which was exported over 100 years ago and came from trees which are capable of living for over 1000 years - watching the progress of man.
